Slowly, Slowly Said the Sloth [around your neck]

This is one of the cutest necklaces I have ever seen. Nothing like a sloth around your neck to remind you to take it easy. And mind the claws.

Buy buy monkey

So I've been checking out the site I mentioned yesterday, MonkeyADay.com, and it really is quite awesome. Every day there's a new monkey-themed product to spend your hard-earned dollars on. Some of the descriptions are quite funny, like for the costume monkey tail: "Why bother getting a costume for next Halloween or for your next costume party? You don’t need to if you have this costume monkey tail. Just add it to whatever you’re wearing, and you instantly have a top-notch costume! Go in your gym clothes and you’re a Gym Monkey! Go in sweats and a t-shirt and you’re a Slob Monkey! See, it’s easy!" Obviously I'm going to be going as a Slob Monkey this Halloween. Thanks for the idea!

MonkeyADay even did an entire week devoted to wine-related monkey stuff. I don't even drink wine and I loved it.

Added to my daily list for sure.

Don we now our [monkey] apparel

I got an awesome recycled monkey scarf for Christmas. No, it's not made out of monkeys. It's made out of recycled cotton. It is pretty much the awesomest scarf ever.

While I can't find it on the Green 3 Web site, they do have an awesome sock monkey throw blanket -- and considering that my monkey scarf is draped over the back of my couch so that I can admire it, I'd be more than happy to take one of those blankets off of your hands should you want to unburden yourself. In any case, the scarf looks a lot like the throw, only, duh, much thinner. Picture the Peace scarf with a sock monkey spanning where the three peace signs are and the rest of the scarf red and brown striped. It is 100% awesome.

Monkey and Poetry Convergence: Chet Phillips edition

Monkeys and poetry once again collide at the Etsy shop of illustrator Chet Phillips. Not only can you buy prints from the "Literary Pets" series, including "William Shakespaw," "Henry Wagsworth Longfellow" and "Edgar Allan Pug," but he also has dozens of monkeys to choose from, most of which are dressed in some kind of military garb and have names like "Gen. Sir A. Persnicketybritches" and "Gen. Leonid Fleapickinoff." He also has an entire collection of Steampunk monkeys. Because, you know, steampunk and monkeys. An obvious combination.

Thanks, Laura, for the tip.

C'mon ride the train, and ride it...

I'm not exactly a Precious Moments connoisseur, so I never knew they made anything other than those creepy tear drop-eyed children with the Bible quotes inscribed on them. But apparently they do.

Behold the wonder that is the Precious Moments Birthday Train. From birth all the way up until age 16, you can buy that special child in your life something they'll eventually have to dust.

Number 15 is a gorilla.

Because I can't think of anything a 15-year-old would like more than an addition to the Precious Moments Birthday Train their grandma started for them before they were even conscious and that they were probably forbidden to play with until, oh, now, at which point they'd rather be sexting their friends.

Monkey Hugz

An eco-friendly baby store. And it's called Monkey Hugz. It's totally okay if you want to buy me stuff there.
