Thanks to
Preeta Samarasan for bringing my attention to "
Starting Today: Poems for the First 100 Days," a project by poets
Arielle Greenberg and
Rachel Zucker. The premise is very simple: "Every day for the next 100 days we will post a new poem by a contemporary American poet—a poem written for and during the first 100 days of this new administration." Day one, for example, is Elizabeth Alexander's inauguration poem. Which means I guess I'm only five days behind. In any case, you can bet I'll be following this project daily.
