If you want the baby to sleep with you (I did) you should. If not, don't. Some babies hate the family bed. With Liberty, we denied her her own bed for so long that by age 4 she was practically begging to sleep by herself. So we let her. And just to be controversial -- anyone who has slept with a dog or cat knows that you do not roll over on them, and if you do hook an arm or leg over them briefly, they protest and you stop. Same with a baby.
